Introducing DJI Mavic 3: The New Standard

Everybody stay calm... Stay calm… It’s finally here! The one, the only… DJI MAVIC 3!

After months of speculation and growing anticipation, the DJI Mavic 3 has finally landed and boy was it worth the wait! Let’s dive into the details...

What is the DJI Mavic 3?

The DJI Mavic 3 is DJI’s all-new flagship consumer-series camera drone that truly pushes the limits as to what is possible with aerial imaging.

The follow-up to the Mavic 2 series, the Mavic 3 is available in three variations; the standard Mavic 3; the Mavic 3 Fly More Combo; and the Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo.

Okay, here’s the quick TL;DR for those who are just after the key specs:

  • New 2 camera design including both a Pro and Telephoto camera
  • 4/3” Hasselblad CMOS sensor
  • Up to 46 minutes of flight time
  • An insane 15 km full HD wireless video transmission range with O3+
  • ActiveTrack 5.0 and MasterShots provide new creative opportunities

What’s the deal with the dual cameras?

The Mavic 3 combines an upgraded Pro camera inspired by the Mavic 2 Pro’s 1” Hasselblad camera with an all-new 7X optical zoom camera inspired by the incredible versatility of the Mavic 2 Zoom. With two cameras in one, you no longer have to choose between a Pro and Zoom camera, the one drone now comes with both!

Sporting a 4/3” Hasselblad CMOS sensor, the Mavic 3’s pro camera is in a league of its own, delivering 5.1K video and stunning 20MP stills. With a new larger sensor, details and colours in your image become more vivid and more flexible to work with in the editing bay. Plus, with an adjustable F/2.8 - F/11 aperture, you’ll receive full creative control over your image’s exposure and colour.

The telephoto zoom camera sports a 1/2" CMOS sensor for capturing far-away scenes in up to 4K. The telephoto lens supports up to 7X optical zoom, a huge leap forward from the 2X optical zoom found on the Mavic 2 Zoom and practically unheard of on a consumer series drone But that’s not all, with support for 4X digital zoom, you can achieve up to 28X hybrid zoom to make even the most distant subject fill up your frame.

What's new?

So what’s new? Well... a lot. On top of the incredible camera improvements featured on the Mavic 3, the Mavic 3 is built with improved obstacle avoidance sensors that support omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and APAS 5.0, meaning you’ll always have a safe flight. Plus, the new ActiveTrack 5.0 algorithm takes full advantage of these improved sensors to deliver the most accurate tracking on a DJI drone yet.

What else is new? With larger, more efficient Intelligent Flight Batteries, the Mavic 3 is capable of an unheard-of 46 minutes of flight time with a single battery! That’s a 50% increase over the Mavic 2 series!
