Sporting a 1/2.3” sensor, the DJI Mini 2 delivers incredible 4K footage with easy to use controls and camera settings. Despite its size, the DJI Mini 2 camera still produces gorgeous 12MP RAW images that can still be used in a semi-professional capacity. With a smaller sensor, the DJI Mini 2 doesn’t produce the detail-rich HDR images of the Mini 3 but still provides photos that are perfect for sharing on social media.

They may appear somewhat similar on paper but there’s a massive difference between the cameras of the DJI Mini 2 and Mini 3. The first Mavic Mini series drone to feature DJI’s famed OcuSync video transmission technology, the DJI Mini 2 featured a huge upgrade in transmission range and stability when compared to the original Mavic Mini. With a jump in transmission range from 4 KM to 10 KM, the Mini 2 is perfect for capturing images from close up and far away.
The DJI Mini 2 can fly for up to 31 minutes with its high-powered Intelligent Flight Battery, plus it's also great for pilots who owned the original DJI Mavic Mini with Mavic Mini batteries being backwards compatible with the Mini 2 drone.
Similarities and Differences
If you’re used to the flight experience of the DJI Mini 2, you can expect something similar with the DJI Mini 3. The one major difference between the two models with regards to flight performance is of course, battery life. The Mini 3 boasts a significant increase in flight time when compared to the Mini 2, and can even be expanded beyond the 38 minutes provided by the standard Mini 3 Intelligent Flight Battery with an Intelligent Flight Battery Plus, for up to a massive 51 minutes of flight time.
